History of the Eastern Pike Regional Police Department
The Eastern Pike Regional Police Department includes the Borough of Matamoras, and the Township of Westfall, which are located in the extreme end of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Matamoras Borough occupies 448 acres and has approximately 2,312 residents. Westfall Township occupies 19,456 acres and has approximately 2,430 residents.
The Borough of Matamoras and the Township of Westfall, Pike County, signed a Regionalization agreement on October 4, 2007 to combine their current police forces. On January 7, 2008 the new department started servicing the two communities. This is to be the first regional police
department in Pike County.
