On routine patrol in the Borough of Matamoras, Sgt. Adams was pleasantly surprised to see a young male several streets ahead, later identified as Felix, riding his bicycle with a couple of friends. Without realizing anyone was watching, Felix was doing the right thing... he was the only one wearing a bicycle helmet.
Recognizing his display of safety, courage, and integrity, Sgt. Adams made contact with Felix and presented him with a token as part of the Eastern Pike Regional Police Department’s “I Was Caught Doing the Right Thing” campaign. This initiative encourages young individuals to demonstrate kindness, courage, and integrity while fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
The token can be redeemed for rewards at participating local businesses, reinforcing the value of making positive choices. Encounters like these are a highlight of community policing, and it is always a pleasure to connect with residents in such a positive way.
Way to go, Felix! Keep up the good work!
