Milford, Pa.-Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin and Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced a joint operation between each of their offices, the Pennsylvania Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, and the Pennsylvania State Police, with assistance from the Lehigh Township Police Department K-9 unit that resulted in criminal charges against several individuals in a methamphetamine trafficking investigation. Detectives from the Pike County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office BNI began a drug trafficking investigation into the sales of methamphetamine in the Hawley-Palmyra Area of Wayne and Pike Counties. The investigation led to the service of a search warrant at the residence at 754 Church Street Hawley Borough. According to the charges, investigators located a large quantity of methamphetamine, and a quantity of marijuana at the residence along with over $4,000.00 in U.S. Currency. While at the residence, investigators found that Stephen Chicoski was the subject of an active arrest warrant out of Philadelphia for receiving stolen property related to being in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen in Wayne County
The Pennsylvania State Police were conducting an investigation into the report of the stolen vehicle, a 2009 Volkswagen, from the Waymart area. After the search warrant was served state police filed charges against two individuals for the theft of the vehicle a 2009 Volkswagen.
Pike County District Attorney Tonkin commended the cooperation among the agencies to bring an end to the criminal enterprise that trafficking a large amount of methamphetamine in the area. Tonkin stated, “It is this type of cooperation among law enforcement agencies that will lead to a safer community.”
Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell also lauded the law enforcement cooperation. Howell stated “Criminal activities know no boundaries. Collaboration amongst law enforcement agencies leads to successful investigations, prosecutions, and safer communities.”
Those charged[1] were
Tami Frick, age 60, of Hawley PA with the charges of two Possession with Intent to Deliver a controlled substance, both felonies related to the quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana found.
Maryann Caggiano, age 68, of Hawley PA with the charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, related to a quantity of methamphetamine found.
Stephen Chicoski, age 35, of Waymart PA, was charged with the crimes of Theft by Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use Motor/Other Vehicles, Fare Evasions - Affirmative Action, Driving While Operator Privilege Suspended or Revoked, and Notice of Change of Name or Address - Drivers License.
Lisa Perkowski, age 42, of Hawley PA, was charged with the crimes of Theft by Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use Motor/Other Vehicles, Fare Evasions - Affirmative Action, Driving While Operator Privilege Suspended or Revoked, and Notice of Change of Name or Address - Drivers License.
The case will be prosecuted in Wayne County by the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office.
